WATCH | Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub flips car in scary off-roading accident
Former UFC heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub is okay after a scary off-roading accident.
‘Big Brown’ has become one of the more colorful figures in the MMA landscape. In 2008, Brendan Schaub began fighting and quickly found himself on The Ultimate Fighter season 10. That was the opportunity that the heavyweight contender needed to get himself on the map.
While Brendan Schaub didn’t win the heavyweight tournament, he still fought in the UFC until 2015. Along the way, he scored wins over the likes of Mirko Cro Cop, Gabriel Gonzaga, Matt Mitrione, and more. He retired months following a knockout loss to Travis Browne in December 2014, and Schaub has since moved into the world of entertainment.
These days, Brendan Schaub is the host of several podcasts and has a successful YouTube channel. The heavyweight has recently begun showing his cars online and considers himself a bit of a gearhead. Unfortunately for Schaub, being around cars all the time has its downsides. Earlier this week, the heavyweight was involved in a rollover crash while off-roading.
The podcaster himself uploaded the footage to social media earlier today. Luckily, Brendan Schaub was okay after the wreck, and quickly got out of the car itself. It’s safe to say that while the heavyweight’s car was destroyed, it could’ve been a lot worse.

“Yep, I crashed my TRX.” Brendan Schaub stated on his YouTube channel, discussing the accident. “It’s all fun and games and we had some fun with it. Here’s the thing, thank God I wasn’t seriously hurt. I got a concussion, those suck, and I definitely didn’t need another one. But, it could’ve been a lot worse.”
Brendan Schaub went on to explain in the YouTube video, that he nearly had his son ride with him for the clip. However, the plan didn’t come to fruition, and he’s incredibly thankful for that. As far as Schaub himself is concerned, he’ll likely still be heading into work this Saturday.
In case you missed it, Brendan Schaub was named a member of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred MMA last month. However, instead of ‘Big Brown’ fighting, he will be on the desk. Schaub will serve as one of the commentators for the promotion’s return this Saturday, alongside Robin Black. The card itself is set to be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Junior dos Santos and Alan Belcher.
What do you make of this news involving Brendan Schaub? Will you watch the former UFC fighter on the call at Gamebred MMA this Saturday night?
