VIDEO | Go Behind the Scenes of UFC 202 with Chad Mendes

By Tom Taylor - August 29, 2016

by Mendes posted to his official YouTube channel

Last month, UFC featherweight Chad Mendes tested positive for the banned substance growth hormone-releasing peptide 6 (GHRP-6), and was handed a two-year suspension by USADA as a result. Despite this unfortunate twist, however, the three-time featherweight title challenger remains deeply embedded in the MMA scene.

Mendes recently took a trip to Las Vegas to help his Team Alpha Male training partner Cody Garbrandt prepare for his UFC 202 bout with Takeya Mizugaki. While in Vegas, Mendes filmed Garbrandt’s final preparations, granting fans behind-the-scenes glimpses of the bantamweight contender’s last training sessions and weight cut.

Garbrandt went on to win his fight with Mizugaki, scoring a thunderous, first-round knockout. The young bantamweight now seems poised for a number-one-contender bout, if not a title fight outright.
