Chael Sonnen expresses disappointment with fighters not stepping up to main event UFC 300
Chael Sonnen believes that not enough fighters are stepping up to headline UFC 300.
UFC CEO Dana White has admitted that he’s been having a hard time booking a headliner for the promotion’s most important show of 2024. He’s got the main event and co-main event left to figure it out. While the card has shaped up quite nicely, there is pressure to ensure there is a main event worthy of UFC 300.
Chael Sonnen is once again playing the blame game on fighters.

“Translation- I have a whole bunch of guys under contract who told me from the day before I signed them that they would like the biggest opportunities possible and that they’ll fight anybody. Turns out my biggest event of all time was excluded and when they said they would fight anybody they meant, anybody they deem weak.”
UFC 300 will be held inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13. Already booked for the card is a UFC Strawweight Championship match between titleholder Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan. Fans will also get to witness the third BMF Championship fight as Justin Gaethje defends against featherweight royalty Max Holloway in a 155-pound clash. There will also be a number one contender bout in the lightweight division when Charles Oliveira takes on Arman Tsarukyan.
There are plenty of other potential bangers on tap such as former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka taking on Aleksander Rakic. We’ll also get to see former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling take on Calvin Kattar.
