Chael Sonnen taken by security to undisclosed location following threats from Jorge Masvidal

Chael Sonnen has revealed that he was taken by security to an undisclosed location in Miami following threats from Jorge Masvidal.

Sonnen is currently in Miami, Florida for the UFC 299 ‘O’Malley vs. Vera’ pay-per-view event which takes place tomorrow, Saturday March 9th in the Kaseya Center.

The former UFC middleweight challenger is set to serve as a desk analyst alongside lightweight contender, Anthony Smith at the event.

It was Sonnen himself, taking to his YouTube channel, who shared the news that he’s feeling threatened by Masvidal and is in a secure location:

“I’m in Miami, I’m at an undisclosed location and I can’t have anything on the wall, because nobody’s allowed to know where I am. Who made those rules? Those two (security guards) who will be standing at my door all night. Why Chael, are you telling us that you have a blank wall behind you with two security guards who will be staying all night when you are about to go to sleep because you are in Miami? Well, I’ve been threatened by Jorge Masvidal. I am at a separate location than everybody else with two security guards because I’ve been threatened by Jorge Masvidal.”

Of course, Jorge Masvidal resides in Miami and has recently made threats against Chael Sonnen.

It was on ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani that the former BMF champ spoke of Sonnen saying:

“Chael would be one guy that I would love to break his eye orbital. Just because he’s such a cheating f**k. Like he’s gotten caught with more substances in his body than any other competitor in the history. At one time he had like six or seven different substances in his body for one of his title fights. It’s like you’re a f**king piece of sh*t human being.”

With Jorge’s previous track record of sucker punches and attacks in the street, it appears the 46-year-old isn’t taking any chances and is making sure his security team is keeping him ‘safe’.
