Going into UFC 196, Nate Diaz caught UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor off guard as he accused the featherweight champ of taking steroids. McGregor, who was tied for the most tested athlete by USADA in 2015, immediately stood up from his seat and turned to Diaz to refute the claims with quite a bit of anger.
On the main card of UFC 196, Yoel Romero, who has been accused of PED usage for quite some time, defeated Jacare Souza to become the #1 contender at middleweight, however Romero failed a post-fight drug test. Romero maintained his innocence, and it was discovered that a supplement he took was contaminated. Ultimately, he was handed a 6 month suspension.
On a recent episode of ‘Beyond The Fight,’ Chael Sonnen explained why both Romero and McGregor are innocent of the accusations that have been made against them.
