‘The Korean Zombie’ out of fight with Ricardo Lamas due to injury
Unfortunate news surfaced Friday morning that UFC featherweight Chan Sung Jung, also known as The Korean Zombie, was forced to pull out of his upcoming fight with Ricardo Lamas due to an undisclosed injury.

The UFC is of course currently seeking a replacement opponent for Lamas at the present time, however there has been no word as to who will be stepping in to fight ‘The Bully’ at UFC 214 on July 29th.
Jung recently made his highly anticipated return to the Octagon this year when he fought Dennis Bermudez in the main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: Houston’ the fight marked Jung’s first in nearly four years. Following The Korean Zombie dropping a 4th round TKO to Jose Aldo for the featherweight title, he served his mandatory two year service to the South Korean military before returning to the UFC earlier this year and knocking out Dennis Bermudez in the first round.
Now, the UFC is tasked with finding an opponent for former featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas. Lamas, who is currently ranked at #3 on the UFC’s official featherweight rankings behind interim champion Max Holloway, and #2 ranked Frankie Edgar, is coming off a spectacular submission win over JiuJitsu ace Charles Oliveira. Prior to that, Lamas dropped a unanimous decision to Max Holloway in a thrilling fight that saw ‘Blessed’ prevent Lamas from going on a 2-fight win streak following his unanimous decision win over Diego Sanchez in November of 2015.
One man who could very well step in to fight Lamas is former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, who recently picked up a dominant win over Yair Rodriguez.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
