Tom Taylor - March 23, 2020

Chan Sung Jung, better known as The Korean Zombie, is prioritizing a UFC featherweight title shot over a showdown with his nemesis Brian Ortega. The undead Korean contender and Ortega were scheduled to fight back in December, but the bout fell through when Ortega sustained an injury. Since then, the pair have exchanged quite a bit of trash talk, and there was an even an infamous incident between their teams at UFC 248 earlier this month.

The two featherweights have been connected to a matchup in the past and the fight seems like it could happen at some point this year given that both men need fights booked. The Korean Zombie addresses potential Yair Rodriguez rematch

Tom Taylor - February 24, 2020

In late 2018, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung collided with Yair Rodriguez in one of the most memorable fights in UFC history. The bout ended in the final second, when the Korean Zombie — who was clearly ahead on the scorecards — was shut off by a highlight-reel Rodriguez elbow. Given the nature of that first fight, many fans are keen to see Rodriguez and the undead Korean go at it again. Because the featherweight division’s reigning champ Alexander Volkanovski is expected to rematch the former champ Max Holloway, and that top contenders Brian Ortega and Zabit Magomedsharipov are rumored to be fighting this spring, the rematch also makes sense from a logistics standpoint.

Jung was scheduled to go one on one with Brian Ortega, only for an injury to force “T-City” out of the running and give Edgar a chance to get back in the win column.

What's next for Korean Zombie and Frankie Edgar after UFC Busan?

Cole Shelton - December 23, 2019

Over the weekend, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung fought at home in the main event of UFC Busan. He took on short-notice replacement opponent Frankie Edgar. It was a critical fight for both men as the winner would be well-positioned for a fight with new featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. In the end, it was the Korean Zombie who got it done as he became just the second person to finish Edgar. He rocked “The Answer” numerous times and earned a first-round TKO win. Following UFC Busan, here is what we think should be next for Jung and Edgar.

The Korean Zombie wants Alexander Volkanovski next!

Chris Taylor - December 21, 2019

‘The Korean Zombie’ picked up arguably the biggest win of his career today at UFC Busan, stopping former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in the very first round. Chan Sung Jung (16-5 MMA) was able to rock the New Jersey native early on in the fight with a solid punch and quickly used that momentum to take control of the fight. Soon after, ‘TKZ’ would drop ‘The Answer’ with a combination and immediately proceeded to take his back. Edgar would scramble free, but was ultimately dropped again and this time was put away by ground and pound strikes (see that here).
