Charles Oliveira says he’s been assured a title shot is next with a win over Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300
Charles Oliveira has said that he’s been assured of a lightweight title shot if he can defeat Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300.
In one of the featured bouts of UFC 300, Charles Oliveira will go head to head with Arman Tsarukyan. The two will battle it out in what is, in more ways than one, a blockbuster showdown at 155 pounds.
With Islam Makhachev not having a fight booked, the winner of this contest is expected to be in line for a shot at the crown. Both men have fought him before, and both have come up short.
Now, in a recent interview, Oliveira has spoken about Dana White’s comments on the bout.
Oliveira looks to the future
“I’m ready to go. I’m ready to go for this fight, very excited,” Oliveira told ESPN. “It’s not a matter of can, it’s a matter of will. We know it’s going to happen. I am the next one in line for the title. Islam hurt himself last time, but I’m ready. Let’s make this happen.”
Charles went on to reaffirm that Dana White had noted this was going to be a number one contender fight when it was first announced.
“It’s always important for us,” Oliveira said. “I’m the next one in line. You can’t deny this. But hear it from the boss? So much better.”
