The long-awaited return of two-division ONE MMA World Champion Christian Lee was far from cathartic.

Lee’s defense of his lightweight MMA gold against Alibeg Rasulov ended in a no contest following a poke to the eye of the challenger in the second round in ONE Fight Night 26’s main event this past Friday, December 6, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.

It was far from the outcome Lee had desired in his first bout in two years, but the 26-year-old wants to settle the score permanently as soon as possible.

“I would definitely be open to a rematch against Rasulov. For me, I’m not happy going away from a fight withoutetting a clear, decisive win, getting a finish. So I’m sure that we’ll face each other again in the future,” Lee said.

“I’m not sure what the immediate plans are going to be. But yeah, if they offer me that match again, I’m going to take it so I can finish it.”

Christian Lee felt no signs of ring rust in return at ONE Fight Night 26

Two-weight ONE MMA king Christian Lee felt like he was back and better than ever in ONE Fight Night 26’s main event.

The outcome may not have been the one he desired, but Lee says he doesn’t feel like the time away made any impact on his performance.

“No, I don’t think I felt any ring rust. I do feel like I could have performed better, which I always do after every fight, but I do feel I was 100 percent on track to getting the finish in there,” Lee said.

“It felt great to be back in action. It was almost two years since I was last in there, and I felt good moving around in the ring. I was just hoping that the fight could have continued so I could have pushed for a finish.”
