Over the last few weeks, the MMA community has watched on in bewilderment as bodybuilder Matthew Kline Kader and UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt engaged in a heated Twitter beef, and ultimately agreed to fight inside Team Alpha Male, Garbrandt’s home base in Sacramento, California. Contrary to widespread doubt that this weird beef would actually go anywhere, Kader showed up in Sacramento earlier today. Through various posts on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, the fitness star documented his arrival in the city, and his plans to storm Team Alpha Male.

Several months ago, it was announced that UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt would be making his first bantamweight title defense against TJ Dillashaw following a season of coaching on The Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately, a back injury delayed the potential fight when Cody Garbrandt was flown to Germany by UFC President Dana White for a procedure on his back that would hopefully speed up his recovery. While the champ is currently back in the united States and recovering, he will be unable to fight TJ Dillashaw in July as initially planned.

When UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt was forced out of his UFC 213 fight with TJ Dillashaw with a back injury, his sizzling beef with Dillashaw was pushed onto the back burner. With this beef on the back burner, Garbrandt has thrust himself into another feud – and it’s a weird one. Over the last week or so, Garbrandt has been getting into it on Twitter with bodybuilder Matthew Kline Kader. The pair’s beef reached a head when Garbrandt challenged Kader to come out to Sacramento and fight. Almost immediately, Kader expressed interest in doing so. Now, Kader has added fuel to the fire by releasing a bizarre promo video for his alleged gym fight with Garbrandt, complete with an introduction by Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer. We could be seeing UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt fight sooner than we thought. Earlier this week, Garbrandt got into a heated Twitter exchange with a bodybuilder named Matthew Kline Kader. It all started after Garbrandt replied to one of Dillashaw’s tweets about fighting UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

It is too bad that Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw will not be settling their feud at UFC 213 as originally planned. Garbrandt suffered a back injury and will not be recovered in time to train for the fight by the July 8 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Over the course of this week, there has been much speculation as to whether or not UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt would be able to make his first title defense at UFC 213 on July 8th. While Garbrandt was slated to fight TJ Dillashaw on the highly anticipated card, news surfaced earlier this week that Garbrandt was being flown to see UFC President Dana White’s doctor in Germany about a back injury that could potentially keep him off UFC 213. While Garbrandt and the MMA community were skeptical that the treatment would leave Garbrandt in a position to recover and fight so soon, UFC President Dana White held out hope.

On July 8th, UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is set to step into the Octagon to defend his title against former teammate, and former UFC bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw at UFC 213. Unfortunately, ahead of the fight, Garbrandt has revealed that his back is injured. The champ was sent to UFC President Dana White’s doctor in Germany who cured White’s Meneires Disease. While White is extremely confident that Garbrandt will come home from Germany healthy enough to fight, a backup plan is in place. Should ‘No Love’ be unable to defend his title, TJ Dillashaw will likely drop down to flyweight and challenge Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight title, where Johnson will look to set the record for most UFC title defenses.

Back in November of 2013, Team Alpha Male‘s Chris Holdsworth won season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter with a second-round rear-naked choke win over Davey Grant. In May of 2014, he scored a decision win over Chico Camus, moving to 2-0 in the Octagon and 6-0 overall, and establishing himself as one of the brightest young prospects in the UFC bantamweight division. He has not been seen in the cage since.
