At UFC 225, which goes down in Chicago this Saturday, Colby Covington plans to take out Rafael dos Anjos to capture the UFC interim welterweight title. From there, he plans on defeating undisputed champion Tyron Woodley to unify the welterweight title. Then, somewhere down the road, he’d like to challenge both middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, and lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to become a three-division UFC champion.

If Colby Covington defeats Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225, he will become the UFC’s interim welterweight champion. It’s Covington’s belief that capturing this interim title will leave undisputed welterweight champ Tyron Woodley with no choice but to accept a fight with him.

The news that Alistair Overeem and Curtis Blaydes‘s heavyweight bout had been bumped from the UFC 225 card to make room for a featherweight contender bout between Holly Holm and Megan Anderson was met with significant backlash from the fans. This backlash had nothing to do with Holm and Anderson’s placement on the main card. The prevailing feeling, instead, was that if there was any fight that should have been bumped off the main card to make room for the featherweights, it was CM Punk’s fight with Mike Jackson, not Overeem’s fight with Blaydes.

On Tuesday afternoon, former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum was notified of a potential anti-doping violation by The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). “The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Fabricio Werdum of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on April 25, 2018,” a UFC statement on the matter read.

The Dern vs. Cooper fight will take place at catchweight, this after Mackenzie badly missed the strawweight limit (116 pounds) by coming in at 123-pounds.
