PHOTO | Colby Covington gets his wish, meets President Donald Trump
Earlier today, pictures surfaced of UFC President Dana White visiting US President Donald Trump at The White House. At the time, it looked as though White had done so without UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington — despite Covington’s longstanding hopes of meeting the US President.
As it turns out, however, Covington did get his meeting with Trump. Shortly after photos of White and Trump surfaced, Covington posted a photo of himself and the President to his official Twitter account.

“Like [Donald Trump] always says: Promises made. Promises kept,” Colby Covington said in the caption for this photo. “Pleasure to finally meet you Mr. President. Thank you for always putting America first!”
As Covington implies in this caption, essentially promised he’d meet Trump before the year was out.
“Yeah, I’m very optimistic that it’s gonna happen,” Colby Covington said on a July episode of BJPENN.COM Radio. “It’s just a matter of time. We have to get our schedules right. I’ve been traveling. Trump’s a busy man. He’s doing all his political rallies, so it’s definitely gonna happen, and I can guarantee you, I’m going to be leaving my belt at the White House.”
“Mark my words,” he added. “You heard it here first on BJ Penn Radio, I will go to the White House before the end of the year. I will drop my gold belt in the Oval Office, shaking hands with Donald Trump, the greatest living American to date. The leader of the free nation, Donald J. Trump. A great American citizen. He’s addicted to winning. Everybody, the liberal scum that want to say stuff about him, you cannot mistake the fact that he loves his country, and he’s doing everything he can to make this country great again. So, I will drop my belt to Donald J. Trump, and leave it at the Oval Office. You mark my words.”
