Bets are confirming Conor McGregor got the best in world tour battle with Floyd Mayweather
Many believe that ones mental state plays a major part in the competitive fighting game.
With the four-day world tour that stopped in four major cities, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor surely had some mental warfare go down in some verbal battles along with the first major reactions from fans where both fighters present.
Bovada.lv sports book manager Kevin Bradley spoke with Yahoo! Sports on the heavy bets they have been getting for the mega money fight, which is trending to be an event bet on more than the NFL Super Bowl.
“We knew this fight would be big, potentially even bigger than the Super Bowl, but now we are almost certain it will be,” Bradley said. “The recent trash talking and promotional tour is only encouraging bets and at this rate we cannot even imagine how much we will take on it. One thing is for sure though, we will need Mayweather huge. A McGregor early round KO as he promised would be a potential disaster and is partly a reason we are giving a great price on Mayweather at the moment.”
The odds have continued to drop following their world tour as fans continue to pound bets on McGregor, which is bringing the odds between the two fighters closer and closer. Even with McGregor having a 0-0 professional boxing record, people believe in “Mystic Mac” and are obviously confident enough to to put their money behind him.
Back in February before the fight was officially announced, the Westgate Resort and Casino in Las Vegas opened up odds for Mayweather and McGregor. Back then, odds were at +1100 for Conor McGregor and -2500 for Floyd Mayweather. In May, McGregor was at +475 while Mayweather was at -750. Yahoo! Sports reported on Tuesday that Bovada’s odds were down to +350 for McGregor and -500 for Mayweather.
