Conor McGregor to critics: “I love memes”
This past Saturday, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, in an unprecedented move, jumped up 2 weight classes to fight at welterweight. Ultimately, McGregor was submitted by Nate Diaz in the 2nd round of their UFC 196 main event scrap.
Immediately following the bout, many critics emerged from the woodwork to criticize McGregor for his confidence leading up to the fight. While seeing memes of yourself all over social media would irritate most people, McGregor isn’t ‘most people’.
It was confirmed earlier this week that McGregor will be fighting at UFC 200, however the UFC has yet to announce who he will be defending his featherweight championship against. With that being said, the two frontrunners for the slot opposite McGregor are former featherweight champion Jose Aldo, and Frankie Edgar.
