Jake Paul shuts down the idea of boxing Conor McGregor: “He needs to go to rehab”
Jake Paul has dismissed the idea of a showdown with Conor McGregor.
There was a time when Paul was pounding on the door for a crack at the “Notorious” one in the boxing ring. It’s clear that Paul saw how lucrative a fight against McGregor would be, but the “Problem Child” has emerged as a combat sports star in his own right. While many have downplayed Paul’s ability as a boxer, he continues to bring eyeballs to his special attractions.
Jake Paul Dismisses Fighting Conor McGregor
As of late, however, Jake Paul has been quite dismissive of a bout against Conor McGregor. After defeating Nate Diaz via unanimous decision on August 5, Paul attended the post-fight press conference. During the presser, Paul responded when asked about the interest level in a bout with McGregor (via Damon Martin).

“I don’t care about that guy,” Paul said. “He needs to go to rehab.”
Paul could be trying to big-time McGregor with his most recent comments. During fight week for the Diaz bout, Jake Paul left the door open for a fight against McGregor. The social media star told reporters the following:
“When I knock out Nate Diaz and do what Conor couldn’t, it only makes sense for him to want that money fight. I don’t know how serious he’s taking fighting at all, and I don’t know how serious the fight world is taking him.
“Who knows if he still has that same appeal. But look, I always said I’d fight him. I’m down. It’s a big, massive event. He obviously has to ask his boss Dana, if he can do that. I’m my own boss. I make my own decisions. I could fight whoever, whenever, wherever. So he’s tied up and even if he wants to do it, Dana might not let him do it.”
During his post-fight interview, Paul laid out possible future plans. He wants to have an MMA bout against Nate Diaz under the PFL banner. Paul also made it clear that he wants a rematch with Tommy Fury, who is scheduled to fight KSI in October.
