Khabib Nurmagomedov has reportedly received a mega offer to rematch Conor McGregor

Current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has reportedly received a huge offer to rematch former UFC two-division champ Conor McGregor in 2019.

The bitter rivals, Conor and Khabib, first met two months ago in the headliner of October’s UFC 229 event, with “The Eagle” emerging victorious by way of fourth-round submission.

Immediately following the disappointing setback, “Mystic Mac” took to social media where he stated that he was “looking forward to the rematch“.

Despite McGregor’s desire to have an immediate rematch with Khabib, UFC President Dana White recently stated that he wants to book Tony Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov and have Conor rematch Dustin Poirier.

Of course all plans for the lightweight division are currently on hold, this until the NSAC reveals the punishments for both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov that stem from their post-fight brawl at UFC 229.

Or are they?

According to Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, an offer has already been made by the UFC.

“They offered $15 million (£11.8 million) to rematch with Conor,” Abdulmanap told Sport 24’s Yaroslav Stepanov (transcribed by TalkSport). “But we want $30 million, guys. $30 million!”

While a fight with Conor McGregor would likely be Khabib’s most lucrative option, his father believes that perennial contenders Tony Ferguson and Dustin Poirier are actually more deserving of the opportunity to fight his undefeated son.

“There are guys who deserve and wait for Khabib. We must respect them as fighters. This point should also be taken into account. Both the Dustin Poirier and [Tony] Ferguson. Ferguson, I think it deserves it.”

According to pops, Khabib Nurmagomedov has three or four battles left in him before calling it a career.

“Khabib has three to four battles left. I think that’s enough. How it goes, the Almighty alone knows, but the plans are as follows. I always had this dream – one fight (in Russia). Wherever, whenever, whoever. For the UFC to give us that. And I will be fighting for that right. We’ve spent almost an eternity (in the sport). With injuries, and without them, thinking of retiring, thinking of staying, thinking of the health. We came back, we proved our point, we won it. That is it. There is no motivation left. We won the belt, defended it.”
