Marcelo Garcia black Belt Dillon Danis: ‘Conor McGregor is amazing on the ground’

BJJ sensation Dillon Danis has been in Ireland at SBG training with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and his team preparing for McGregor’s rematch with Nate Diaz set for UFC 202.

Danis, a black belt under Marcelo Garcia spoke with FloGrappling about training with “The Notorious” and had nothing but great things to say about the UFC champion.

“He talks the talk and he walks the walk,” Danis said of McGregor. “And, if you meet him, he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He’s a good guy to learn from and be around. I really enjoy being here and helping him and him helping me.”

Danis says that McGregor’s skills are great as is and too many people discredit him for being submitted by Diaz.

“Conor is amazing on the ground, man,” Danis said. “One submission loss doesn’t mean anything.

“If you go to a jiu-jitsu tournament and a guy loses by submission you’re gonna say ‘ok that guy sucks.’ It’s bullshit man. Conor is a great fighter, he’s got great jiu-jitsu and I’m having a blast here. I’m learning from him and he’s learning from me.”
