Paulie Malignaggi reveals more juicy details from sparring session with Conor McGregor
Former two-weight boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi was brought in as a sparring partner for Conor McGregor’s camp for his mega-money fight against Floyd Mayweather. Malignaggi, who recently retired from boxing, had a couple of sparring sessions with McGregor but called it quits after McGregor’s camp “exploited” him with photos from the sparring showing McGregor seemingly getting the best of their training.
One photo that McGregor’s camp released showed Malignaggi getting up off the ground from his back as if McGregor knocked Malignaggi down. Paulie claimed it was a push down and stated that if people really want to see how their full 12 rounds of sparring went down, the UFC Performance Institute where they sparred has the full video of their session and should release it.
Malignaggi continued with more details from the sparring session replying to a few select tweets after announcing he was no longer going to help with McGregor’s camp.
Fan: Looks like he got caught talking shite and got put on his back 😂
Paulie Malignaggi: Nah I pretty much talked shit that whole sparring session while I beat the breaks off him, the push down was his frustration from it.

Fan: Yes.. there’s a limit though.. you shouldn’t be trying to KO someone in a sparring session.. not the point nor is it respectful
Paulie Malignaggi: That kind of sparring is normal for boxers on a high level, I boxed many yrs so it’s normal but to put a weird spin on things is unethical.
