UFC veteran Matt Brown thinks it’s fairly obvious why Conor McGregor hasn’t made his UFC return: “I don’t think it’s some mystical f****** Nostradamus s***”

UFC veteran Matt Brown thinks it’s pretty clear why Conor McGregor has not stepped back inside the Octagon.

Conor McGregor

When the Irish megastar was last seen competing in a pro MMA fight, he suffered a broken leg during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. That was back in July 2021. Now, we’re one month away from spring 2024 and McGregor still hasn’t had another fight booked.

While there has been a ton of speculation on what the holdup is, “The Immortal” thinks the answer isn’t difficult to figure out.

Matt Brown Thinks He Knows Why Conor McGregor Hasn’t Been Fighting

During an appearance on MMAFighting.com‘s “The Fighter vs. The Writer,” Matt Brown shared his belief that it’s understandable why Conor McGregor wouldn’t be motivated to fight given how wealthy he is.

“It’s pretty obvious,” Brown said. “I don’t think it’s some mystical f****** Nostradamus s***. The dude’s got hundreds of millions in the bank. Would you fight if you had hundreds of millions in the bank?

“He did a lot of great things. He was an amazing fighter. He’s not getting back to a title ever. The only reason he would have to come back is his ego. He doesn’t need the money. It would be only ego. He’s not going to get a belt again and he knows that. He’s not a dumb person. He talks a lot of s*** but he’s not a dumb person. He’s a very, very intelligent person. He knows he’s not coming back to get a belt ever again. So what’s the point of coming back and fighting? What is the point?”’

Michael Chandler, an opposing coach against McGregor during the most recent season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” recently appeared on WWE RAW to urge the “Notorious” one to stop waiting and fight him.
