Corey Anderson slams Joe Rogan's 'wasting career' comments: "Fame doesn't pay bills, money does"

Josh Evanoff - December 27, 2023

Bellator light-heavyweight Corey Anderson has some issues with UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s recent comments. ‘Overtime’ has been out of action since a fight with Phil Davis in June at Bellator 297. There, Corey Anderson scored a split-decision win, another high-profile win for him. Since leaving the UFC in 2020, the light-heavyweight has earned a 4-1 (1 NC) record. With that in mind, it’s safe to say that he’s benefitted from the move.

There, the light-heavyweight contender scored a split-decision win over ‘Mr. Wonderful’, an important win for Corey Anderson. However, he didn’t have much time to celebrate, as he started going back and forth with Jamahal Hill.

Glover Teixeira unbothered by Corey Anderson's recent comments: "He got knocked out by the man I took the belt from"

Josh Evanoff - May 3, 2022

UFC light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira doesn’t seem to care about Corey Anderson’s comments. The Bellator light-heavyweight title contender is fresh off a no-contest with Vadim Nemkov last month. Despite not picking up the win due to a headbutt, Anderson seemed confident that he was the best 205-pound fighter on the planet. The former UFC fighter has openly pondered if Dana White regrets releasing him in 2020.

Following Vadim Nemkov fight, Corey Anderson confident he's the best light-heavyweight on the planet: "I wonder how Dana White feels now"

Josh Evanoff - April 19, 2022

Bellator fighter Corey Anderson has proclaimed that he’s the best light-heavyweight on the planet. He’s also questioning if Dana White is regretting releasing him from the UFC. ‘Overtime’ is coming off a no-contest with Vadim Nemov last weekend at Bellator 277. The bout came to a close due to an illegal headbutt near the end of the third round. Prior to the illegal blow, Anderson was in complete control and was on his way to winning light-heavyweight gold.

Corey Anderson suggests Jan Blachowicz is "jealous" about how much money he makes in Bellator

Adam D Martin - October 27, 2021

Corey Anderson suggested that UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is “jealous” about how much money he makes fighting in Bellator. Anderson left the UFC as a free agent last year following a knockout loss to Blachowicz at UFC Rio Rancho, and he soon found himself in Bellator under the terms of a new, lucrative contract. Since joining Bellator, Anderson is 3-0 with three knockouts, and in his next fight, he will battle Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov for the belt and the $1 million prize for the Grand Prix tournament winner. But even before actually winning the tournament, Anderson says that he has already made more money fighting just three times in Bellator than he did in his entire career with the UFC. He believes that it makes Blachowicz jealous knowing how much he earns.

Corey Anderson explains how using MMA math will prove he's the best light heavyweight in the world

Adam D Martin - October 26, 2021

Bellator light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson explained how using MMA math will prove he’s the best light heavyweight in the world. Anderson recently knocked out Ryan Bader in the semifinals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix. Following the fight, he proclaimed himself as the best light heavyweight in the world despite the fact that Blachowicz KOed him just last year in the UFC. While it’s true that Anderson did beat Blachowicz the first time they met at UFC 191 in 2015, Blachowicz has since gone on to become the UFC light heavyweight champion. Since he is the champion, you have to give him the credit he deserves.

The date of the finals has not been announced by Bellator but will likely happen sometime early in 2022.

Jan Blachowicz trashes "coward and quitter" Corey Anderson following recent comments

Adam D Martin - October 21, 2021

UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz trashed “coward and quitter” Corey Anderson following the recent comments that he made. Anderson knocked out Ryan Bader at Bellator 268 last weekend and, following his win, he said that he’s the best light heavyweight in the world right now. Blachowicz, however, vehemently disagrees with that assertion. The Pole is the UFC light heavyweight champion and just last February he knocked out Anderson in a devastating fashion. Although Anderson does have a previous win over Blachowicz from UFC 191 in 2015, the recent KO win by Blachowicz seems to indicate that, right now, he is the superior light heavyweight.

Ryan Bader issues statement following knockout loss to Corey Anderson at Bellator 268

Adam D Martin - October 18, 2021

Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader issued a statement following his knockout loss to Corey Anderson at Bellator 268. Bader suffered a first-round knockout loss when he was caught with an Anderson punch early on in their fight and then finished with ground and pound. For Bader, it was a disappointing loss after beating up Lyoto Machida in his last outing to advance to the tournament semifinals. The former Ultimate Fighter winner is still the Bellator heavyweight champion, but he has struggled as a light heavyweight as he’s lost two of his last three fights in the weight class by knockout to Anderson and to champ Vadim Nemkov before.

Corey Anderson reacts after knocking out Ryan Bader at Bellator 268

Adam D Martin - October 18, 2021

Former UFC light heavyweight contender and current Bellator standout Corey Anderson reacted after knocking out Ryan Bader at Bellator 268. Anderson knocked Bader out on Saturday night in the semifinals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix. For Anderson, it’s his third straight knockout win since joining Bellator and he is looking every bit the part of a world champion. By finishing Bader in such a devastating fashion, Anderson has advanced to the finals of the $1 million tournament. In 2022, Anderson will face off against Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov, who advanced to the tournament finals with a submission win over Julius Anglickas. Between Anderson and Nemkov, there is a lot of talent in the tournament finals.
