Bellator champion Cris Cyborg tired of waiting for another fight, says Larissa Pacheco bout could be slipping away in 2024
Cris Cyborg is looking for a fight, but she does not plan on waiting around.
When the PFL announced its acquisition of Bellator MMA, it turned many heads within the MMA world. Most Bellator champions appeared to be on board with PFL founder Donn Davis and his vision. In fact, many of them were in attendance for the PFL 2023 championship event. There was one titleholder who wasn’t ready to dive in headfirst, however, and that was Cris Cyborg.
Now, she is calling upon the PFL decision makers to get to work on her next fight.
Cris Cyborg Calls On PFL To Book Next Fight
Cris Cyborg, the Bellator women’s featherweight champion, took to her Twitter account to warn the PFL that the clock is ticking on a champion vs. champion showdown with PFL’s 2023 women’s featherweight winner Larissa Pacheco.
Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June.@PFLMMA or @BellatorMMA
Can I get a fight booked during the first half of 2024?!@PeteMurrayPFL @DonnDavisPFL
The longer I sit without an MMA fight the less likely @lpacchec fight happens in 2024 @srjsports
My last MMA fight was Oct. pic.twitter.com/QA4pdA1bTS

Back when PFL first announced plans for champion vs. champion fights, Cris Cyborg expressed dismay with Donn Davis for making plans on her next bout without speaking with her first.
“As I said last night… Lots of plans being made and announced. I have not had any contact with anyone from the @PFLMMA since news of the purchase. One thing I will control is how my career finishes.
“Company culture and the way I am going to be treated as I finish the final fights of my career are a priority despite having two fighters call me out fight night. I was one of the few Bellator champions not to be contacted or invited to the show. I’m financially at a point in my life that I’m unwilling to enter into any toxic work environments. My mental health is too important
“I am excited to be boxing Jan 19th and after talks with my team have occurred will start to look at the options for my mma return.”
