BREAKING | Cris Cyborg vs Felicia Spencer being finalized for UFC 240
After recently campaigning for the only fight that makes sense for her in the division… outside of a title fight rematch, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino (20-2) appears to be getting her wish at UFC 240.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto has confirmed that the UFC is finalizing the featherweight pairing for a co-main event slot between Cyborg and the undefeated most recent Invicta FC champion, Felicia Spencer (7-0) for UFC 240 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 27.
After getting through March which was to be believed as Cyborg’s contract expiration month, she recently revealed on her YouTube channel that this next fight will now be officially the last on her contract.

“BREAKING: UFC is finalizing Cyborg Justino’s next bout, against former Invicta FC champion Felicia Spencer, UFC president Dana White tells @ESPN. Co-main event for UFC 240 on July 27 in Edmonton. Non-title bout.” Okamoto’s tweet read.
UFC President Dana White also commented saying the following; “I’m excited about this Edmonton card. Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar is a great main event, and now we have Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer in the co-main event. Felicia is undefeated at 7-0, a former Invicta world champion, coming off a very impressive first-round finish over a top-three-ranked Megan Anderson. I can’t wait for this fight.”
For Spencer, this will come as only her second fight inside the UFC Octagon after making her debut just two weeks ago at UFC Rochester. Spencer would take on her fellow former Invicta champion in Australia’s Megan Anderson where she would get the win via a first-round rear-naked choke.
Always looking to fight as often as possible but never quite being able to find opponents to aid in that, this will act as Cyborg’s second fight in 15 months after dropping her title to the bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes in her last fight which took place in December 2018.
