VIDEO | Watch Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino Eat Creepy-Crawlies in Cambodia!
Given that Cris “Cyborg” Justino is a professional cage fighter, it should come as little surprise that she’s got guts. Guts, after all, are something of a prerequisite for those that make their living in the face-punching business. If you had any lingering doubts about Cyborg’s courage, however, her most recent post to Instagram will erase them.
In this post, Cyborg can be seen exploring a cluster of street food vendors near Angkor Wat, a massive complex of temples located in beautiful Siem Reap, Cambodia. These are not your typical street food vendors, however. Instead, they sell creepy crawlies like scorpions, snakes and spiders, roasted to blackness on sticks.
In this post, Cyborg succumbs to pressure from a friend and some curious bystanders, and chows down on one of these blackened spiders for the amusement of her fans – just in time for Halloween. Witness the Brazilian’s stomach-turning meal at the top of this post!
Cyborg’s visit to Cambodia coincides with a training trip to nearby Thailand. This trip follows a September pummelling of Lina Lansberg – the second win of her UFC career. In her first bout inside the Octagon, Cyborg mauled a game Leslie Smith to a first round TKO.
As the owner of an incredible 17-1 record and the Invicta FC featherweight title, Cyborg is widely regarded as one of the best female fighters in the world – if not the best female fighter outright. Unfortunately, her career has long been marred by her inability to get down to the 135-pound bantamweight division, where she’d face far stronger competition. As a result, she’s been restricted to a diet of brave bantamweights who are willing to meet her at a catchweight of 140 lbs.
Though Cyborg doesn’t currently have a fight booked, her most compelling option is and always will be a fight with former bantamweight champ and longtime rival Ronda Rousey, who will return to action on December 30 against Amanda Nunes.
Who would you like to see the Brazilian slugger take on next? Sound off, PENN Nation!
