Dana White reacts to Sean Strickland’s controversial comments at UFC 297: “I don’t agree with 95% of what this guy says”

UFC CEO Dana White has given his thoughts on Sean Strickland’s controversial remarks during UFC 297 fight week.

At UFC 297, Sean Strickland fell short in his attempt to successfully defend the UFC middleweight championship. He was beaten by Dricus du Plessis in what served as an electric back-and-forth affair in the main event.

Prior to fight night, however, Sean was making headlines of a very different nature. During his media commitments, Strickland made several outlandish comments that caught the attention of the mainstream media.

In a recent interview, Dana White spoke candidly on the matter and made it clear that he doesn’t agree with the majority of the former champion’s views.

White speaks out on Strickland

“People get pissed off, people get offended, this and that. We just had it happen with Sean Strickland,” White said. “We’re up in Canada, Sean Strickland said a lot of things, I don’t agree with 95% of what this guy says. But, it’s his right to say it. And if you don’t like it, tune in on Saturday night, he’s going to get punched in the face…

“Don’t get too upset and don’t take it too serious.”

Dana White has never been one to censor his fighters. If anything, he’s presented with far more issues on a week to week basis as a result of his take on free speech. When it comes to Sean Strickland, though, we can’t imagine that there’s anything the UFC can do to stop him from voicing his opinion.
