Dana White reveals he will announce the UFC 300 main event on Saturday
UFC CEO Dana White has revealed he will announce the main event for the historic UFC 300 event on Saturday.
White has been working on the main event for the pay-per-view card in April for quite some time now, but nothing has been finalized. But, now, speaking to MMA reporter Kevin Iole, he revealed he will announce the headliner for UFC 300 at the post-fight press conference following UFC 298 on Saturday.

“In chatting with @danawhite just now, he said he’ll announce the #UFC300 main event at the post-fight news conference for #UFC298 on Saturday,” Iole wrote.
What the main event of the card will be is uncertain, but the fact Dana White has decided to announce it at the post-fight press conference rather than a video he has been doing is interesting. White also spoke recently about the difficulty of getting the main event.
“There are so many twists and turns, and crazy f***ing shit going on behind the scenes of UFC 300… Jon Jones is not involved. We have one more slot to fill mid-level, and then we have the main event… I know what I’m trying to do [for the main event], but what I’m trying to do and what’s gonna happen could end up being two completely different things. Unless I completely f***ing change everything. It’s fascinating. There could actually be a documentary right now being shot of behind the scenes to build UFC 300. That’s all I’m going to say,” White said on the Full Send Podcast.
With how much Dana White has talked up UFC 300, the expectation is the main event will be a marquee fight, but the UFC CEO didn’t give any hints as to what the headliner may be.
As of right now, UFC 300 is as follows:
- Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway
- Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan
- Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
- Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic
- Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
- Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison
- Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller
- Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopes
- Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
- Jessica Andrade vs. Marina Rodriguez
- Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt
