Dana White has revealed that former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler’s career is coming to a close. ‘Ruthless’ has been out of the octagon since his clash against Bryan Barberena at UFC 276 last July. Lawler entered the contest off a stoppage win over Nick Diaz, which was his first victory in four years. However, ‘Bam Bam’ wound up halting the former champion’s momentum, scoring a second-round knockout victory.

Wednesday morning, UFC president Dana White made an exciting announcement revealing some major bouts that will take place at UFC 290 on July. 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The date marks the UFC’s popular International Fight Week, and the company always try to stack the card from top to bottom with prospects, notable names, and championship contests. July will be no different.

Dana White thinks Kron Gracie had an odd game plan for his UFC 288 fight against Charles Jourdain. Gracie was fighting for the first time since October of 2019 when he suffered a decision loss to Cub Swanson. Since then, he has been on the sidelines and wasn’t talking much about what he was doing, which added some intrigue to his return fight against Jourdain.

There, he faced former flyweight and bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo. ‘Triple C’ had been out of action since a stoppage win over Dominick Cruz in May 2020.

UFC President Dana White has given his reaction to the Belal Muhammad vs. Gilbert Burns fight. Muhammad and Burns shared the Octagon inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on May 6. This welterweight tilt served as the co-main event and had title implications. Going into the fight, Burns told reporters that both he and Muhammad were guaranteed that the winner of this fight would receive a UFC Welterweight Championship opportunity after Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington.

It will be a highly-anticipated fight but White doesn’t have much of an interest in it. As well, he says it is funny that once Paul loses to an actual boxer he goes back to fighting 40-year-old MMA fighters.
Dana White reveals backup fighter for Amanda Nunes vs Irene Aldana at UFC 289

Dana White has revealed there will be a backup fighter for the UFC 289 main event between Amanda Nunes and Irene Aldana. On Tuesday, White revealed that Pena was out of the UFC 289 main event against Nunes and Aldana has stepped in on short notice. Aldana, meanwhile, was supposed to headline the May 20 event against Raquel Pennington, so with that fight off, White revealed Pennington will be the backup fighter for June’s title bout.

UFC president, Dana White took to Instagram to announce that Pena has suffered a broken rib and is out of their scheduled main event fight. However, Irene Aldana has agreed to step up on short notice and will now headline the pay-per-view event for the bantamweight title against Nunes on June 10 in Vancouver, Canada.

Garcia earned the unanimous decision victory and after the fight, Guida took off his gloves, suggesting that he was ready to announce his retirement. Even Garcia appeared to be emotional as he showed respect to Guida.
