The 23-year-old Bahamondes took on Edson Gomez on the latest edition of the Contender Series in an action-packed welterweight fight. The first round saw both men land some big shots on each other, but in the second round, the youngster Bahamondes took it to Gomez and really made an impression for UFC president Dana White.

UFC president Dana White discussed where Uriah Hall sits in the UFC middleweight division after his KO win over Anderson Silva on Saturday. Hall picked up the biggest win of his career in the main event of UFC Vegas 12 as he was able to stop Silva in the fourth round with punches after a back-and-forth first three rounds. Despite being 45, Silva looked sharp and fast in the fight as he was able to hang in there for the first three rounds before Hall finally landed the finishing blows in the fourth. The win over Hall gives Silva a three-fight win streak and presumably a top-10 ranking.

White confirmed that Ngannou — who has won four straight fights by knockout — would be next in line to fight Miocic for the belt. But after Jon Jones made the announcement he would be pursuing a title shot at heavyweight as well, some thought Jones might skip by Ngannou.
