Earlier this week, reports emerged from numerous high-profile news sources that indicated UFC President Dana White was no longer negotiating a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight. The reports followed the news of White finalizing Conor McGregor’s half of the contract several weeks ago, which was expected to then lead to White finalizing a deal with Mayweather’s team. Since then there have been no updates regarding a potential Mayweather-McGregor fight, however this week a report emerged that WME-IMG executives Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell are the ones negotiating with Al Haymon and Floyd Mayweather’s team, not UFC President Dana White.

Dana White confirms Georges St-Pierre will receive a welterweight title shot upon his return
Tom Taylor - May 22, 2017
Earlier this year, we learned that former UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre – one of the best fighters ever – was poised for a long-awaited return to the Octagon. St-Pierre’s return, however, would not occur in the welterweight division where he was once so dominant. Instead, the former welterweight king was set to make his return in the unfamiliar middleweight division, where he received a shot at reigning champion Michael Bisping. This news was understandably disappointing for the middleweight division’s top contenders, whose spot in line had been usurped by an admittedly great fighter, but one who had never fought in the division before. Fighters from Yoel Romero, to Luke Rockhold, to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza all expressed their distaste for this matchup.

While no date was given for the bout, the UFC held a press conference for the scrap, pending an official fight date. Ultimately, Bisping got fed up waiting for the former welterweight champ, and informed Georges St-Pierre that if he wasn’t prepared to fight in July, he would give the middleweight title shot to Yoel Romero. St-Pierre fired back with a video of his own, informing the champ that he would be ready to fight any time after October.

Dana White gives Conor McGregor very short cutoff date to agree on Mayweather fight terms
Russell Ess - May 11, 2017
It seems like Dana White is getting tired of the talk regarding a few of his star fighters and just wants to get down to business.
