Fighters react to Daniel Cormier knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226
Daniel Cormier shocked the mixed martial arts world tonight in Las Vegas by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the very first-round to claim the UFC’s coveted heavyweight title.
Cormier was able to catch Miocic with a big right hand that sent the Cleveland native crashing to the canvas. From there, Cormier would deliver some brutal ground and pound that eventually put Stipe to sleep.
With the win, Daniel Cormier joined a group of fellow octagon legends in Randy Couture, BJ Penn, Conor McGregor and Georges St-Pierre as the only fighters to have ever captured UFC titles in two different weight classes.
Following his historic victory, Cormier called out former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar who just so happened to be in attendance at T-Mobile Arena.
Cormier and Lesnar would engage in some trash talk, as well as some pushing and shoving, and are now slated to square off at a yet to be determined event later this year.
Here is how the pros reacted to Daniel Cormier’s sensational UFC 226 win, as well as his encounter with Brock Lesnar.
