Daniel Cormier made his first appearance on WWE RAW last night ahead of his special guest referee spot at Extreme Rules this weekend. The former two-weight UFC champion has made no secret of the fact that he’s been a fan of professional wrestling for years now, and after teasing a run in WWE in the past, Cormier was recently confirmed as the special guest ref for Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins at WWE Extreme Rules.

Over the course of the last few years, and especially since his retirement from mixed martial arts, Daniel Cormier has served as one of the voices of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He’s followed on from his illustrious career as a two-weight UFC champion by providing some great analysis in the fight game, to the point whereby he’s one of the most respected names in the sport. Beyond that, he’s even managed to kickstart a slow move into professional wrestling.

Daniel Cormier will be living the dream at WWE Extreme Rules. The UFC Hall of Famer will serve as the special guest referee for the special Fight Pit Match between Seth Rollins and former UFC fighter Matt Riddle on October 8. Ariel Helwani was the first to reveal that Cormier will be serving as the referee. WWE later confirmed Helwani’s report, and promised more details on the October 3 episode of “RAW.”

Daniel Cormier is advising Luke Rockhold to stay retired following an ‘absolutely perfect’ end to his MMA career. It was just 6 weeks ago that Rockhold (16-6 MMA) announced his retirement inside the Octagon after fighting Paulo Costa (14-2 MMA) at UFC 278 on August 20th. The former UFC middleweight champion lost to Costa via unanimous decision. It was the Californian’s 3rd loss in a row.

Ultimately, Khamzat missed weight by a whopping 7.5 pounds, sending the promotion into chaos as they re-worked the fights. Chimaev ended up fighting and beating Kevin Holland (23-8 MMA). Diaz met up with and defeated Tony Ferguson (26-8 MMA) in his last fight under his UFC contract.

It was Kamaru Usman (20-2 MMA) vs Leon Edwards (20-3 MMA) this past Saturday night in the welterweight main event. The two had previously met back in December of 2015, where Usman defeated Edwards via unanimous decision.
