Michael Bisping helps clarify the recent controversial comments of Darren Till
Tom Taylor - August 14, 2018
Earlier this month, UFC 228 welterweight title challenger Darren Till came under fire when he suggested that he didn’t care about anything other than capturing the title from Tyron Woodley — not even his pregnant girlfriend or his young daughter. “I’ve got a girlfriend who’s nearly seven months pregnant,” Till infamously said. “I don’t really care. I’ve got a daughter in Brazil right now who I haven’t seen for one year. I don’t really care. I just care about legacy and greatness. That’s what I’m in this for.”
Kamaru Usman to act as the replacement if needed for Tyron Woodley or Darren Till at UFC 228

Injuries, weight cut issues, you name it and a fight can be canceled for it. Which is why it’s good to see that the UFC is now starting to have fighters on standby for their main events. We saw it most recently with international fight week wherein the case that a headlining fighter couldn’t go, someone else was ready to step in and replace them.
Darren Till responds to recent criticism over family comments, 'stop trying to be offended'
Drake Riggs - August 9, 2018
Never one to be shy to share what’s on his mind, Darren Till did so again this past week at UFC 227. And he caught some flack for it from the MMA community. One half of UFC 228’s welterweight title headliner will be the challenger, Liverpool’s own Till. After being a part of the UFC’s big 25-Year press conference the day before UFC 227, Till stuck around for the night of action as expected.

Darren Till says he saw doubt in Tyron Woodley's eyes, Woodley fires back
Thomas Taylor - August 5, 2018
On Friday afternoon, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley had his first staredown with Darren Till, who he will battle in the main event of UFC 228 on September 8. Shortly after this tense staredown, Darren Till claimed that he saw a shred of doubt in the champion’s eyes. Not fear, but doubt.
Darren Till explains why Colby Covington isn't getting the next crack at Tyron Woodley
Tom Taylor - July 31, 2018
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is now set to defend his title at UFC 228 on September 8 in Dallas. Yet he will not defend it against current interim welterweight champion Colby Covington. Instead, he’s poised to defend his strap against surging British contender Darren Till, which means that Covington will soon be stripped of his interim title. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show this week, Darren Till gave his take on why Colby Covington didn’t get the next crack at Tyron Woodley and the undisputed title. According to Till, Covington was just asking for a little bit too much in the negotiations for a potential fight with Woodley.
Darren Till has a message for "toxic" fans who are criticizing his title shot
Tom Taylor - July 26, 2018
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is now set to defend his title at UFC 228, on September 8 in Dallas — but not against interim champion Colby Covington. Instead, Woodley will attempt to defend against undefeated Liverpudlian Darren Till. While this is certainly a great matchup from a competitive standpoint, not everybody loves it. Many fans have been quick to criticize the UFC’s choice to give Till the opportunity, reminding that the Brit missed weight by a significant margin in his last fight, a May decision defeat of Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.

Drake Riggs - July 24, 2018
The speculation for what’s in store for UFC 228’s headliner as well as the welterweight title picture has come to an end. After Darren Till’s initial hinting that interim champion Colby Covington wasn’t going to be able to fight before November, he called for a title fight with the undisputed champion Tyron Woodley.
Colby Covington still expects to unify titles vs Tyron Woodley despite needing recovery time
Drake Riggs - July 20, 2018
After Darren Till’s subtle early morning hinting yesterday, we soon got some truth to the matter. The welterweight division needs a title fight. Till claimed that interim champion at 170-pounds Colby Covington wasn’t going to be able to fight the undisputed champ, Tyron Woodley, where he, in turn, told the champion to ‘accept the fight’ with him.
Report | UFC considering stripping Colby Covington of interim title, booking Woodley-Till title fight
Tom Taylor - July 19, 2018
The UFC welterweight division has suddenly been consumed by chaos. According to a report from ESPN, the UFC is considering stripping interim welterweight champion Colby Covington of his title, and promoting an undisputed title fight between champ Tyron Woodley and challenger Darren Till. This report from ESPN follows some strange Tweets from Till last night, in which he told Woodley to “accept the fight,” and claimed Covington was “out.”

Just when we think that the welterweight division has a clear path to move forward on atop the title scene, a wrench potentially could have been thrown in the mix. At UFC 225 early last month, Colby Covington captured interim UFC welterweight gold when he defeated the former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision.

One of the most discussed decisions of the year took place at the UFC’s first visit to Liverpool, England and many believe that the wrong man won. The fight in reference is the main event which pitted top welterweight strikers Darren Till against the two-time title challenger Stephen Thompson.
EXCLUSIVE | Stephen Thompson thinks it is bullcrap that Darren Till shot up the welterweight rankings after missing weight
Chris Taylor - June 16, 2018
Former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson (14-3-1 MMA) is coming off a controversial decision loss to Darren Till which occurred last month in Liverpool, England. The Thompson vs. Till fight, which headlined UFC Fight Night 130, almost didn’t happen after the Liverpool native badly missed weight by coming in 3.5 pounds over the non-title welterweight limit of 171-pounds.
Darren Till says UFC Liverpool cut "wasn't in any way bad"
Tom Taylor - June 13, 2018
Darren Till is riding high on the biggest win of his career: a close, but impressive decision defeat of two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Unfortunately for Till and his fans, the win does come with an asterisk attached. Not only do many fans and commenters feel that the decision should have been awarded to Wonderboy, but Till also missed weight for the bout, tipping the scales at 173.5 pounds — three pounds above the 171-pound limit for non-title welterweight fights.
Rafael dos Anjos doesn't think Darren Till will last long at welterweight
Tom Taylor - June 3, 2018
Last weekend, in the main event of UFC Liverpool, Darren Till picked up the biggest win of his career thus far, scoring a close decision victory over two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Regrettably, Till’s win was shadowed in controversy, as he missed weight for the bout, tipping the scales three and a half pounds over the 171-pound limit for non-title welterweight fights. In the opinion of Rafael dos Anjos, who will battle Colby Covington for the UFC interim welterweight title in the co-main event of UFC 225, Till’s struggles with the scale will probably eventually force him up to the 185-pound welterweight division. The recent behind-the-scenes footage of Till’s weight-cut was all the proof dos Anjos needed to this end.
UFC rankings update: Darren Till surges up welterweight ranks, Michael Bisping exits at middleweight
Tom Taylor - June 1, 2018
The latest iteration of the UFC rankings include a number of interesting changes, as Michael Bisping has exited the middleweight rankings in the wake of his retirement, and Darren Till has surged up the welterweight rankings after his controversial UFC Liverpool defeat of Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. This latter move is rather controversial, given that Till did not make weight for the bout, and therefore it did not technically occur in the welterweight division. Here are the new UFC rankings (via MMAMania) Note: +/- = movement in rankings *NR = Not previously ranked

Not everybody, however, agreed with this result. Shortly after the judges’ verdict was read, there was an outpouring of criticism suggesting that Thompson, not Till, should have been awarded the victory.
