Tom Taylor - May 1, 2018
Contrary to previous rumors, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and long-time pro wrestling star Brock Lesnar has re-signed with WWE. Apparently, however, his new WWE contract could allow for at least one bout inside the UFC’s Octagon. Should Lesnar return to the perilous Octagon, it could very easily be to a heavyweight title shot — perhaps against the winner of Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier’s UFC 226 heavyweight title super fight.

Tom Taylor - April 24, 2018

Should Hardy win impressively on the show, he could well be awarded a UFC contract. Hardy’s being granted a UFC contract, of course, would be incredibly controversial given the assault charge that festers in his past, which stems from a a 2014 attack on an ex-girlfriend. If the former Carolina Panther does join the UFC heavyweight roster, he can expect to be sought out by Derrick Lewis, who is hoping to dish out some justice.

Tom Taylor - February 19, 2018
Last night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s anticipated return to Austin, Texas, Derrick Lewis survived a few scares to author a thunderous third-round TKO win over Polish talent Marcin Tybura. With this win, Lewis rebounded from tough, stoppage loss to heavyweight legend Mark Hunt, and reasserted himself as a top contender in the perilous UFC heavyweight division. Though he’s likely still a win or two away from a heavyweight title shot, Lewis has a few opponents in mind for his next fight, any of whom could well propel him the rest of the way to the top. Those men are: Francis Ngannou, Curtis Blaydes, and Fabricio Werdum. Or, you know, whoever is willing to sign a contract first.

Derrick Lewis Wants $500K to Gas Out like Francis Ngannou
Justin Golightly - February 14, 2018
From steroid allegations to body shaming, Derrick Lewis has been all over Francis Ngannou after he came up short in his fight against Stipe Miocic. He was already criticizing the fighter, but this only intensified after Lewis found out Ngannou’s pay in the main event title fight at UC 220. If Lewis is able to beat Marcin Tybura on Sunday, it sounds like he’ll be looking for a title shot himself, even if it’s just to drink beer and gas out. “For sure, that’s all I really care about [is money]. Now that I’ve seen that – what’s his name, Francis [Ngannou]? – he got $500,000 just fighting for the belt. Let me fight for the belt next. They can give me $500,000. Sh-t, I’m going to gas out too. Guaranteed $500,000? You don’t have to worry about me training before a camp. I’ll be drinking a beer right after weigh-ins.”
Derrick Lewis Body Shames 'Too Much Muscle' Francis Ngannou
Justin Golightly - February 6, 2018
The Black Beast Derrick Lewis is set to return against Marcin Tybura at UFC Austin, but he’s still on a mission to flame Francis Ngannou and his muscles. Ngannou had his biggest test ever in his short career and came up short in an exhausting performance against Stipe Miocic. Even though he loss, he’s one of the very few heavyweights out of huge names not to be knocked out by the heavy-handed firefighter. It was a huge learning experience for the fighter, but Lewis claims history is bound to repeat itself unless Ngannou does something about his body. “I watched the highlights of the Francis [Ngannou] fight. I didn’t watch the fight cause I didn’t want to give Francis my money and pay for his pay-per-view. I seen the highlights and Stipe [Miocic] had him against the cage and Francis is on his knees and Stipe wasn’t putting that much pressure on him. All Francis had to do was stand straight up, and Francis couldn’t even stand straight up. I know I wouldn’t just let Stipe hold me down like that. I knew he wasn’t going to walk through Stipe. It was a five-round fight and Stipe is a good wrestler. I knew that’s what Stipe was going to go in there and do. Ngannou had too much muscle. He was going to gas out quick as hell.”
VIDEO | Derrick Lewis Wants to See Francis Ngannou's Birth Certificate
Justin Golightly - January 31, 2018
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Derrick Lewis, better known as The Black Beast. He’s coming back in action at UFC Austin on February 18th to fight Marcin Tybura, but he’s got his eyes on another fighter. Francis Ngannou is taking some time off after coming up short against Stipe Miocic, but whenever he comes back, Lewis is up to throw down with the big man. He doesn’t stop at the call-out though, he alleges the 31-year old is at least 40 and is on performance enhancing drugs. “Yeah, I’ll fight [Francis Ngannou] on sight you know. This guy over here, every time somebody ask me a question about him, I say something nice, but every time somebody say something about him, he’s like trying to talk down on me saying I’m not on his level, talking about how I’m too slow and this and that. I really don’t care, but, don’t try and talk sh-t about me every chance you get. He talks sh-t, but he’s never like, ‘Oh, I want to fight Derek.’ He’s always talking down on me, but he doesn’t want to fight me.”

Justin Golightly - November 22, 2017
UFC 218 goes down in just two weeks and the co-headliner is a monster mash between Alistair Overeen and Francis Ngannou. For the longest time, Derrick Lewis looked to be on a collision course with Ngannou, but an injury forced him to pull out of his latest fight with Fabricio Werdum. For now the match-up has left Lewis behind, but the ‘Black Beast’ announced he’s all clear and ready to get back to the Octagon and Curtis Blaydes stepped up to welcome him back. Derrick Lewis didn't get paid after last-minute UFC 216 injury withdrawal
Tom Taylor - October 16, 2017
The most recent UFC pay-per-view on the calendar was UFC 216, which went down on October 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada. While the card ultimately went down as a very fun one, it was unfortunately rattled by a last minute loss to its main card, as heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis was forced out of his planned scrap with former champion Fabricio Werdum. The catalyst for Lewis’ withdrawal was a back injury. On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, Lewis revealed that this injury was so painful that it left him in tears, and unfortunately, he didn’t even receive a payday to help him swallow this unfortunate blow. Though his back injury and resulting withdrawal from UFC 216 was certainly beyond his control, Lewis was not compensated at all by the UFC.
