Diego Brandao vs. Daniel Pineda set for UFC on FOX Sports 1 1
UFC’s debut on FOX Sports 1 continues to take shape as it was announced that a featherweight bout between Diego Brandao (17-8 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Daniel Pineda (18-9 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has been added to the August event.
The winner of Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter”, Diego Brandao, is currently riding back-to-back wins, which he earned by defeating Joey Gambino and Pablo Garza respectively. The Jackson’s MMA fighter won “TUF 14” by submitting Dennis Bermudez in the first round of their 2011 fight, earning Diego both “Fight of the night” and “Submission of the night” honours.
Pineda bounced back from back-to-back losses in April by submitting Justin Lawrence at the TUF 17 Finale in Las Vegas. All three of Pineda’s octagon wins have come by way of submission.
UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place August 17 at the TD Garden in Boston and will mark the promotion’s debut on the new cable network, which launches the same day. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight battle between Shogun Rua and Chael Sonnen.
