Diego Sanchez has seen his lengthy run in the UFC come to an abrupt and unceremonious end ahead of what was to be a bout with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone this Saturday. After being released from the promotion following a 16-year tenure, Sanchez began leaking some footage of and audio from his current coach, Joshua Fabia. Ultimately, the problematic nature of the entire scenario was seemingly too much for the UFC to continue having “The Nightmare” on the roster.

UFC commentator Michael Bisping trashed “toxic little sh*t” Joshua Fabia following the promotion releasing longtime veteran Diego Sanchez. The UFC cut Sanchez last week after 16 years with the company due to issues with his medical clearance. Fabia had questions about Sanchez being able to fight and voiced them with UFC staff at a meeting that was leaked online. Sanchez was set to fight Donald Cerrone in what was set to be his retirement fight on May 8, but the UFC released Sanchez from his contract, choosing instead to pay him out after a back-and-forth email exchange between Sanchez and UFC lawyer Hunter Campbell over medical records, which was also leaked online.

UFC president Dana White has reacted to the news that the promotion has parted ways with MMA legend Diego Sanchez. It was revealed overnight that Sanchez, who has been with the UFC for 16 years, has now left after what appeared to be a mutual agreement between the two parties. The move came despite Sanchez winning three of his last five fights with his final appearance being a decision loss to Jake Matthews last September.

On Tuesday it was revealed that Sanchez was out of his fight next weekend at UFC Vegas 26. However, no reason was given upon the initial report. As of today, MiddleEasy came out reporting that Sanchez had been released by the promotion due to his recent “trash-talking” of the company.
