Breaking! Dominick Cruz slated to defend his bantamweight title at UFC 207
UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (22-1 MMA) is slated to return to action at UFC 207 this December in Las Vegas, according to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani.
“The Dominator” is being targeted to square off with Cody Garbrandt at the pay-per-view event.
The UFC has yet to officially announce the bout.
Dominick Cruz was most recently seen in action at June’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles where he earned a unanimous decision victory over bitter rival Urijah Faber.
Prior to his victory over Faber, Cruz was coming off a title-earning split-decision victory over former division champion T.J. Dillashaw this past January in Boston.
Meanwhile, Cody Garbrandt (10-0 MMA) was last seen in action at August’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas, where he earned a first-round knockout victory over Takeya Mizugaki. The win marked Cody’s third-straight knockout victory in a row, as “No Love” had previously disposed of Thomas Almeida and Augusto Mendes via first-round finishes.
UFC 207 takes place December 30 live from T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship fighting featuring current title holder Amanda Nunes taking on former champion Ronda Rousey.
