Dominick Cruz shares update after shoulder surgery
On Tuesday, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz went under the knife to repair an injured shoulder.
Speaking on Twitter shortly thereafter, the former champion called this surgery a success and said that he’s back on the road to recovery.

“The surgery went well! I appreciate your support … Now on the road to recovery …” Cruz wrote (h/t MMAjunkie).
Dominick Cruz was scheduled to return to the cage opposite John Lineker at the now cancelled UFC 233 card when disaster struck his fight camp and forced him out of the fight.
This fight with Lineker would have been Cruz’s first since a late 2016 decision loss to Cody Garbrandt, which marked the end of his second reign as UFC bantamweight champion.
Although Dominick Cruz has been seemingly cursed by repeated injuries, he’s still widely regarded as the best bantamweight in MMA history.
Whatever the case, the former champion seems to be in good spirits despite this latest injury.
“This is a setback opportunity unfolding that will become part of my legacy,” he said in an Instagram post shortly after news of his injury surfaced.
