The idea is that by giving fighters the opportunity to weigh-in throughout the day, they will be able to rehydrate better before their fights Saturday night.

Following his impressive first-round TKO victory over the previously undefeated Henry Cejudo at UFC 197, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson stated the he was very interested in doing a “super-fight” with current bantamweight title holder Dominick Cruz. “The Dominator” and “Mighty Mouse” have already fought once under the UFC banner, with Cruz earning a five-round decision victory over Johnnson in October of 2011.

Back in January, Dominick Cruz returned to the Octagon and defeated TJ Dillashaw to reclaim the UFC bantamweight championship. Immediately following his win over Dillashaw, Cruz found himself being called out by his nemesis, Urijah Faber. The UFC ultimately opted to book Cruz vs. Faber III for UFC 199 on June 4th in Inglewood California. Ahead of that fight things have been tense between Cruz and Faber during media appearances. During an interview with MMAJunkie, Cruz put the bantamweight division on blast for its lack of depth.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw was not very pleased when he caught wind that the UFC had booked a trilogy bout between Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz instead of granting him an immediate rematch with “The Dominator”. In the 5th round of Dominick Cruz’s ‘UFC Fight Night: Boston’ main event scrap with TJ Dillashaw, Cruz seemed to re-injure his knee. While the MMA world was extremely concerned that Cruz re-tore his ACL, the newly crowned UFC bantamweight champion revealed post-fight that it was a foot injury.
