UFC bantamweight kingpin Dominick Cruz is widely believed to be one of the best fighters in the UFC. The bantamweight champion recently made his triumphant return to the Octagon earlier this year, where he reclaimed the bantamweight championship he never lost inside the Octagon. After reclaiming the championship belt, Cruz stepped into the Octagon to square off with longtime nemesis Urijah Faber in the co-main event of UFC 199 back in June. Cruz put on a spectacular performance as he picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Faber.

Current number one UFC ranked bantamweight TJ Dillashaw is more than upset over the recently announced bantamweight title fight between champion Dominick Cruz and number 6 UFC ranked contender Cody Garbrandt. For nearly 10 years the pair had engaged in a bitter rivalry after Faber submitted Cruz back in 2007 under the WEC banner. Cruz avenged the loss in the UFC, defeating Faber via unanimous decision, however that wasn’t enough to put an end to the rivalry. In the co-main event of UFC 199, the pair finally competed in a trilogy fight, which Cruz won in convincing fashion.
