BREAKING | Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone vs Mike Perry added to UFC Denver

By Drake Riggs - July 20, 2018

After getting its headliner, a second super fun matchup has been added to the November 10th event in Denver. This one featuring popular welterweights.

Donald Cerrone

Just prior to this new fight announcement, UFC Denver got its main event pinned down as featherweights Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung will collide.

Now a second scrap has been added as the perennial fan favorite, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is set to take on “Platinum” Mike Perry.

Also per Dana White, freaking Cowboy Cerrone vs. Mike Perry (!!!!!!) is “good to go” for UFC Fight Night on Nov. 10 in Denver.

Perry is fresh off a back and forth war with one of Cerrone’s good friends, Paul Felder at UFC 226. The fight was also Perry’s first fight with JacksonWink MMA which is Cerrone’s longtime MMA home as far as teams are concerned. Which creates for an interesting dynamic going forward.

For Cowboy, he’ll be looking to get back on track as he’s lost four out of his last five bouts with the most recent coming against the rising contender Leon Edwards in their UFC Singapore main event clash.

Always considering returning to 155-pounds where he spent the majority of his now 45 fight career, Cerrone never seems to actually pull the trigger on that move back as he keeps taking fights at 170.

Starting off a red-hot 4-0 with four finishes upon his entry into the heavier division, Cerrone has struggled since running into Jorge Masvidal in January 2017.

For Perry, his recent win over Felder snapped a two-fight losing skid that saw him suffer defeat against the likes of Santiago Ponzinibbio and Max Griffin.

Perry is currently 3-3 in his UFC career to this point while Cerrone is 20-8 (26-11 including the WEC, 33-11 overall).
