BREAKING | UFC Singapore Gets Donald Cerrone vs Leon Edwards as Main Event

By Drake Riggs - April 3, 2018

The welterweight showdowns continue to be revealed.

Donald Cerrone, UFC Singapore

On the current list of lined up UFC Fight Nights, Fight Night 132 in Singapore was the last to get it’s main event. And that main event will be Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone taking on rising 170-pound contender, Leon “Rocky” Edwards, reports MMAFighting.

After Edwards’ most recent victory over Peter Sobotta at UFC London, the twenty-six-year-old Brit called out Darren Till for the main event in the UFC’s first stop to Liverpool. While he may not be getting Till in Liverpool, he is still getting a big fight like he was asking for.

Edwards has quietly been building up a rather impressive streak of victories in the UFC’s talent-stacked welterweight division. Since losing to a fellow divisional dark horse, Kamaru Usman in 2015, “Rocky” has won five in a row and excluding Sobotta, that includes the likes of Albert Tumenov, Bryan Barberena, and Vicente Luque.

For the man known as “Cowboy”, Donald Cerrone just snapped the first losing streak of his career when he knocked out Yancy Medeiros in February.

Despite his continual claims of wanting to go back down to his original home of 155-pounds, that is clearly not going to be the case and who knows if it ever will be at this point.

Cerrone holds a 5-3 record when competing at welterweight and all five of those victories have come via finish(four KO/TKOs, one submission).

Who gets the W on June 23rd?
