Donald Cerrone calls out Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, and Conor McGregor
Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is currently gearing up for his UFC Fight Night 89 welterweight scrap against Patrick Cote this Saturday in Ontario, Canada. However Cerrone is already setting his sights on a major fight against three of the biggest names in the UFC today.
Cerrone spoke to MMAJunkie to explain his desire to fight either Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, or Conor McGregor:
“I really want to fight Khabib. It’s something that’s been in the works a long time. He gets hurt, the fight never happens. Four times the fight has been scheduled. It’s a fight I want. I ain’t scared of him. Everyone talks like he’s the man. He ain’t (expletive). Come get it Khabib. 155, 170, I don’t care – 185, whatever you want. I’ll fight you on Ramadan. He can’t eat, that’s his problem or whatever? He takes a month off? I’ll fight you at whatever weight you want.”
“I’d rather fighter Diaz over Conor,” Cerrone said. “Everyone talks about that as the money fight, but people don’t understand. They’re like, ‘If you get that fight, that’s the money fight.’ No, I’m under contract. I get paid the same whether I fight Patrick Cote or I fight Conor. He might make more money because he got pay-per-view. I didn’t do a good job promoting myself and making myself big and get pay-per-view money. I get the same $80,000 to fight anybody.”
“He goes out there every time, (UFC President) Dana (White) and them are like, ‘He’s just going to try and lay on you.’ He’s just going to take me down, but I feel real confident in my wrestling. (Expletive) him, how ’bout that? (Expletive) you, Khabib. That can be your headline, ‘(Expletive) you Khabib.’”
It is important to mention that Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor are slated to fight each other in a highly anticipated rematch at UFC 202. Khabib Nurmagomedov on the other hand currently doesn’t have a fight booked given that he is currently observing the Muslim holiday of Ramadan.
