Dos Anjos “way more” motivated for Cerrone fight

Rafael Dos Anjos is set to defend his UFC lightweight championship tomorrow night in Orlando Florida against Donald Cerrone, who he defeated back in 2013.

While both fighters have certainly been on tears since they last fought each other, Rafael Dos Anjos says he is way more motivated for his 2nd fight against Cerrone than he was when he fought Anthony Pettis for the championship belt back in March.

Since then, Dos Anjos has been stuck on the sidelines rehabbing an injured knee, but that doesn’t mean he was relaxing.

He spoke to UFC.com:

“It was good for me, but I’m a very active guy,” he said. “I always like to be training, so it was kind of hard. And actually, I didn’t have a break because I had physical therapy twice a day for my knee and I was really dedicated to that, trying to get better. Some people think we’re just sitting home, watching TV all day, but I was working on my knee and it took a lot of work to get a hundred percent. But I did need that rest. I had five fights in 11 months, my body was breaking. But now I’ve rested and I’m way more motivated for this fight than I was for my title shot.”

Tomorrow night we will see if it’s enough for him to end the 8-fight win streak of Cowboy.
