Dustin Poirier admittedly felt the effects of Conor McGregor’s leg kicks after UFC 264, suggesting that he had never left a fight week so sore. Poirier and McGregor collided for a third time in the headliner of last months UFC pay-per-view event, with ‘The Diamond’ once again emerging victorious. While the fight only last one round, ‘The Diamond’ says the leg kicks he received from ‘Notorious’ during their trilogy definitely left a mark.

Jorge Masvidal has weighed in on a potential fight between Dustin Poirier and Colby Covington. For over a year now, Poirier and Covington have taken shots at one another and ‘The Diamond’ event said it was “on sight” when they saw each other next. However, nothing has happened as of yet and if Covington defeats Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 he says he wants his next fight to be against Poirier.

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier slammed “mentally weak” rival Conor McGregor for his injury excuses following UFC 264. Poirier defeated McGregor via first-round TKO at UFC 264 earlier this month to claim the pair’s trilogy by a score of 2-1. However, the ending of the fight was controversial as McGregor broke his leg which directly led to the finish. Since the fight has gone down, McGregor has come out publicly and stated that he had an injury heading into the Poirier fight. But as far as “The Diamond” goes, he doesn’t care for McGregor’s excuses.

Mike Brown fired back after John Kavanagh said that Conor McGregor was doing well against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 before his injury. Poirier defeated McGregor via first-round TKO (doctor stoppage) after the Irishman suffered a broken leg that caused a stop to the contest. Even before the injury, however, Poirier was doing quite well in the fight and two of the three judges scoring the bout cage-side gave him the first round 10-8. So when Kavanagh recently came out and stated that he thought McGregor was doing well in the fight before the injury, there were a lot of fans who didn’t agree with his assessment of the fight, and Brown doesn’t agree with it, either.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission is refuting Conor McGregor’s claim that they were aware he had a leg injury ahead of UFC 264. McGregor (22-6 MMA) squared off with Dustin Poirier (28-6 MMA) for a third time last weekend in Nevada, this after splitting their first two encounters.

Jake Paul stuck to his word and gave Dustin Poirier his $100k Sleepy McGregor chain. After Poirier beat McGregor at UFC 264, Paul tweeted at Poirier to ask him if he wanted the chain which “The Diamond” did. After a few days, and the chain being shipped, Poirier took to social media to show he got the chain. He also plans on auctioning it off where the money will go to charity.

UFC welterweight Colby Covington said that “dirtbag” Dustin Poirier’s win over Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 264 was “a fluke.” Poirier won the trilogy with McGregor on Saturday night at UFC 264 when he got his hand raised via first-round TKO (doctor stoppage) after the Irishman broke his leg near the end of the first round. While it was a strange ending to the fight, it appeared as though Poirier was in control of the match up until the stoppage, and two of the three judges gave him a 10-8 scorecard in the first round. But while Poirier may have been on his way to a win before the injury, the fact the fight ended that way makes some, such as Covington, believe that the end of the fight was more of a fluke than any sort of legitimate win.

The UFC was back in front of a full capacity crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for UFC 264. In the main event, Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor had their highly-anticipated trilogy match. Heading into the fight, many were torn on who would win, and early on McGregor had success with his kicks. Poirier then got him down and landed vicious ground and pound, but with less than a minute left, McGregor got back to his feet. Unfortunately, for the Irishman, when he threw a punch, his leg gave out, he broke his leg, and the fight ended due to doctor stoppage at the end of the first round.
