This past weekend in the main event of UFC 205, UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was on the wrong side of a brutal TKO from Conor McGregor. For McGregor, who made UFC history with the win as the first man to simultaneously hold UFC titles in two weight classes, the win was not only a successful UFC lightweight debut, but an incredibly impressive win.

This past weekend, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor did what no other man in the history of the UFC has been able to do as he captured the UFC lightweight championship to become the first man to simultaneously hold two UFC championships. The fight was an incredibly dominant one for McGregor, who dropped Alvarez for the first time just moments into the fight, ultimately dominating the fight from bell to bell as he ended up finishing Alvarez in the second round via TKO, becoming the first man to stop Alvarez in the UFC, and just the second man to finish Alvarez in his professional career.

Last Saturday, in the main event of UFC 205, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor knocked out lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez with beautiful, second-round combination. This seemingly effortless victory rendered the Irish star the first fighter in UFC history to own titles in two divisions simultaneously. While many members of the MMA community were shocked by the ease with which McGregor defeated Alvarez, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh was not. Being very careful not to disparage Alvarez’s personality or toughness, the famed coach explained his confidence in McGregor on the latest episode of The MMA Hour.

Back at UFC 202’s pre-fight press conference, “The Notorious” and Nate Diaz got into a crazy war throwing various objects including water bottles, energy drink cans, and a cup of coffee.
