Erik Koch vs. Ricardo Lamas set for UFC 155 in Las Vegas | UFC News
A key featherweight match-up between Erik “New Breed” Koch (13-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and Ricardo Lamas (12-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is set to go down at UFC 155 in Las Vegas.
Koch was originally slated to face featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 149 in July, but an injury to Aldo put Koch on the sidelines. When the match was remade for UFC 153 in Brazil, it was once again called off when Koch injured his knee. With that said, “New Breed” hasn’t fought since defeating Jonathan Brookins in September of 2011.
Koch now faces Lamas, who spent his pre-UFC career at lightweight. Since dropping down to the featherweight division, Lamas has won three straight, including stoppage victories over Matt Grice and Cub Swanson and most recently upsetting Hatsu Hioki in June.
UFC 155 is scheduled for December 29th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a heavyweight title fight rematch between champion Junior Dos Santos and former champion Cain Velasquez .
