BJPENN.com Radio Sunday Night At 7 P.M. PST With Brian Rogers, Richie “Boogeyman” Martinez, Raphael Butler, & Brandon Vera
This weeks show is kicked off by “The Professional Predator” Brian Rogers. Brian is coming off an amazing KO win at Bellator 119 with a flying knee. Now Brian is set to step back into the Bellator cage September 19, 2014 against promotional newcomer Rafael Carvalho. Brian was originally set to face James Irvin, but injury resulted in his original opponent and his first replacement Brett Cooper pulling out of the fight. We will talk to Brian about his time on the field playing inside linebacker, the move to MMA, and so much more. Get ready cause if you didn’t watch Brian’s last knockout, I’ll warn you he hits hard and I have a feeling he’s coming out swinging. Follow Brian on Twitter @BRogthePredator
Our second guest is a bad, bad man… So bad that you might want to check under your bed and in your closet before you go to sleep. Richie “Boogeyman” Martinez is on the show. Richie is a beast on the mat and inside the cage. Richie trains out of 10th Planet and is an Eddie Bravo brown belt, but you gotta add some awesomeness as well and Richie did that by training out of Team Hurricane Awesome. We will talk to Richie about his time on the Mat, as well as his undefeated MMA record that he will be putting on the line against Leville Simpson at TFC 30 September 26. Richie is not your average looking MMA fighter, from his bald head and beard, to his enormous gauges in his ears we will talk to Richie about his look, his early life, and so much more… DON’T MISS THE BOOGEYMAN, cause when he’s coming for you he doesn’t miss. We kick off the second hour with a man who packs a serious punch. Raphael “The Silencer” Butler is joining us and if you don’t know the background on Raphael you’re in for a treat. Raphael didn’t come up in the world of MMA, but rather in the ring. Raphael had an amazing Amateur career, resulting in him winning the 2004 National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Championship. Raphael has got hands, resulting in him winning 7 of his 9 fights by TKO/KO. We will talk to Raphael about his time in ring, the switch to the cage, what prompted the change, and where he thinks the heavyweight division is with their hands. We will also talk with Raphael about his upcoming match up September 19, for Bellator against Javy Ayala. Follow Raphael on Twitter @RealThaSilencer
Our last guest made MMA news when he signed with One FC July 13, 2014, and we can’t wait to talk his debut with the promotion scheduled December 5, in the Philippines. Brandon Vera is back on the show and he’s got lots to talk about. We will talk with Brandon about his decision to sign with One FC, his goals while inside the promotion, and what it means for him to get to fight in the Philippines and if that weighed in on his signing. We will get Brandon’s thoughts on the current state of MMA, his plans for the remainder of his career, and how much longer he has in the gas tank. If time permits we will talk to Brandon about his career and whatever else comes up. Get to Twitter and follow Brandon @Verafied
