EXCLUSIVE | Tyron Woodley “Stephen Thompson makes me want to throw up”
Current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will return to the octagon on March 4 in Las Vegas where he will rematch top contender Stephen Thompson in the main event of UFC 209.
Thompson and Woodley first met at this past November’s UFC 205 event in New York, and after a five-round war the title fight was ruled a majority draw by the judges in attendance.
Shortly after the events conclusion (UFC 205), UFC president Dana White announced that an immediate rematch between Thompson and Woodley would be put together by UFC officials.
However, last month BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor was able to confirm that former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz was actually offered a fight with Woodley at UFC 209 but declined the offer due to contract discrepancies with the promotion.
When Thompson learned that Diaz had been offered the fight with Woodley he was not at all happy and called the UFC’s attempted move “bull crap” and “ridiculous”.
Current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley recently spoke with BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor about his upcoming rematch with Thompson and detailed why “Wonderboy” has left him with a bitter taste in his mouth.
“Everyone should call Stephen Thompson ‘Mr. Entitled’. He feels so entitled. It’s funny. He was so outraged that Nick Diaz was offered the fight with me by the UFC. How are you going to be upset about that when Nick Diaz is a legend? He paved the way for guys like you and me. You know?”
He continued:
“It is just his reaction to certain things that gives me a bitter taste man. He makes me want to throw up. I’m not going to lie.”
