UFC 237 | Pro fighters make their picks for Rose Namajunas vs. Jessica Andrade

In the main event of UFC 237 on Saturday, strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will look to defend her title in Brazil against the country’s own Jessica Andrade.

Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions. Although Andrade is the slight betting favorite, Namajunas is the favorite to win according to the pros.

Here’s what they had to say:

BJPENN.com Fighter Picks: Rose Namajunas vs Jessica Andrade

Kyle Nelson, UFC featherweight: I think Rose will pull it out again. I think she will keep surprising everyone. When she gets in there she gets the work done, I think she will stay the champion for the next little while.

Jared Cannonier, UFC middleweight: I’m a bigger fan of Rose so my biased opinion is Rose all day long.

Devin Clark, UFC light heavyweight: That is going to be a good fight. I am going to go with Rose, I like her and I think she gets it done. I am always going to root for her.

Diego Ferreira, UFC lightweight: That one will be a war. I think Rose will win. She has more tools and is more of a well-rounded fighter. She is a good grappler, good striking, just good all around so I’m going with Rose.

Ilima Lei-MacFarlane, Bellator flyweight champion: I actually have Rose winning this fight. Andrade is a beast and will keep coming forward, but, I think if it goes to the ground Rose has a super sick jiu-jitsu game. Unless Andrade overpowers her and nullifies her, I think Rose will win by decision.

Macy Chiasson, UFC bantamweight: That is going to be awesome. Rose is definitely one of my favorites and I am pulling for Rose. She is so technical and she is really long but Andrade has such amazing power. But, I have Rose winning that fight.

Damien Brown, RIZIN FF lightweight: I got Rose Namajunas. I like watching her. She has good movement, like she gets in and out. I think Namajunas will piece her up.

Renato Moicano, UFC featherweight: Jessica Andrade by knockout. Maybe the second or third round but there will be a new Brazilian champion.

Cody Stamann, UFC bantamweight: Rose by decision, I bet she dominates and wins all five rounds.

Christopher Lencioni, Bellator featherweight: I give it to “Thug” Rose. Same strength, more composed, and better technically. Andrade isn’t the only one who can throw.
