UFC 238 | Pro fighters make their picks for Donald Cerrone vs. Tony Ferguson

UFC 238 is set to go down on Saturday from Chicago, Illinois. The card is stacked top to bottom with two title fights closing out the night. But, also on the card is an intriguing lightweight matchup between Donald Cerrone and Tony Ferguson, the winner of which will most likely get a crack at the title.

Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions on this fight. They all agree it will be a great fight and a hard fight to call.

Here’s what they had to say:

BJPENN.com Fighter Picks: Donald Cerrone vs. Tony Ferguson

Kevin Lee, UFC welterweight: That is a good fight. If you start to sit down and analyze it, there are a lot of moving parts in that. “Cowboy” has the advantages in the kicks which he had against Al, too. I think Tony mixes it up a little better, especially with his hands. I think the speed and the combinations might be the deciding factor. So I’m going to go with Tony on that one, probably gonna finish him late in the fight.

Sijara Eubanks, UFC bantamweight: I think that is going to be a super exciting fight. But, I’m going with Donald Cerrone. I believe in “Cowboy’s” run. He has been talking about how he has been fighting for so long and serious about the run for the title. I think he is hot right now and Tony is coming off of a break.

Felicia Spencer, UFC featherweight: It is so hard to pick this one. I always put my money on “Cowboy” and I think he gets it done here.

Volkan Oezdemir, UFC light heavyweight: This is going to be a good one. I’m going with Tony. He is coming back from some issues but he is still Tony. He is dangerous everywhere, on his feet, back, he is wild. I think he wins this fight.

Steven Peterson, UFC featherweight: I think “Cowboy” wins but I love Ferguson.

Calvin Kattar, UFC featherweight: That is a good one. My buddies and I talk about this fight. We like both guys. How do you not want Tony Ferguson to get a title shot? And, “Cowboy” is such an OG. It is tough. I hope “Cowboy” gets it done, but how can’t you be happy for a guy like Tony. But, I gotta go with Cerrone.

Rakim Cleveland, PFL light heavyweight: This is the fight of the night, no question. You have Ferguson who does not care about anything. Then you have “Cowboy” who is precise with his kicks and has a great ground game. It is going to be amazing but I have Ferguson.

Patrick Mix, Bellator bantamweight: I train with “Cowboy” on Sundays leading up to this fight. I know him really well and have been at the ranch before. Just seeing him work I think “Cowboy”, and not because I am biased. Listen, if “Cowboy” touches Ferguson he can knock him out, and Tony Ferguson he has shown he can be rocked and if “Cowboy” hurts him he will finish him.

Beneil Dariush, UFC lightweight: I think Ferguson should have this covered unless his chin isn’t there anymore.

Cris Lencioni, Bellator featherweight: I love “Cowboy”, but Ferguson is on another level of crazy you can’t get inside his head. So, I think Ferguson will win.
