Francis Ngannou shares behind the scenes locker room footage from his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has shared some behind the scenes footage from his boxing showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Earlier this month, Francis Ngannou went head to head with Anthony Joshua in just his second ever professional boxing match. It came hot on the heels of his narrow loss to Tyson Fury, which proved to the passes that he has a lot of potential inside the squared circle.

Unfortunately for ‘The Predator’, he didn’t have the same good will coming out of the Joshua bout, as he was knocked out cold in the second round.

Now, Francis has released backstage footage from that night.

Ngannou’s post-fight reflection

“Even the first time, I was quite surprised, like, ‘Damn, I can’t be falling from this punch,’” Ngannou said. “The punch was hard, but I don’t think it was the punch that usually would take me down.”

“I think this is a knockout, this is a weird loss,” Ngannou said. “Something that I wouldn’t like to experience, but I think it will stay as a defeat only if I don’t learn from it and come back from it.

“Just life, you don’t make any excuse. That’s what we sign up for when you come to a sport like this. You always know that there is stuff like that, that could happen.”

Regardless of whether or not you like Francis Ngannou, nobody can deny the financial success he’s had since leaving the UFC. Who knows, perhaps another appearance in the ring is in his future before he walks away from combat sports for good.
